    Description

When your clutch linkage geometry demands pull-type engagement rather than push-type operation, this Wilwood external slave cylinder delivers the hydraulic force and stroke length your high-performance build requires. Unlike push-style cylinders that move the clutch fork away from the engine, pull-type operation draws the fork toward the firewall—solving clearance and geometry issues common in racing and custom applications.

Precision-machined from billet aluminum for maximum strength and plated with a tough anti-corrosion finish, this slave cylinder withstands the punishment of drag racing, circle track, Pro Street, and off-road applications. The stainless steel pushrod delivers a longer-than-standard 1.38" stroke, ensuring complete clutch disengagement every time—critical for crisp gear changes under race conditions. The 7/8" bore paired with a recommended 3/4" master cylinder provides the ideal hydraulic ratio for consistent pedal feel and full clutch release.

Proper installation requires mounting the cylinder at 90 degrees from the clutch fork at the apex of travel and parallel with the fork's swing arc to prevent premature wear from side loading. The 5/16-24 threaded pushrod attaches directly to a drilled hole in the clutch fork—note that this attachment point may differ from the original mechanical linkage contact location. For complete air purging during bleeding, position the bleed screw at 12 o'clock. With dual inlet port options (3/8-24 IF or 1/8-27 NPT), this universal slave cylinder adapts to virtually any plumbing setup.

    FAQs

    Q. Why won't my transmission go into gear? A. Check your 'Master Cylinder throw distance, it should be 1.4". You may have to adjust your clutch pedal height in the vehicle. Q. Why is my pedal bottoming out ? A. Adjust your clevis and your pedal, balance the amount of adjustment you need between the two until your pedal does not bottom out anymore. Q. My pedal feels spongy and the slave cylinder does move right away. A. You have air trapped in the system, re-bleed the system again, follow the bleed instructions, or see the video on bleeding hydraulics on this page under the Video Tab Q. What type of fluid do I use in my clutch hydraulics? A. DOT 3 or 4 brake fluid only in this application. There is no need for high temp brake fluid. Q. Will this kit work a stock clutch pedal? A. Yes, it will fit an original factory pedal and an OE reproduction aftermarket pedal.
