RMA Policies & Procedures

We understand it is sometimes necessary to exchange or return item(s).

Returns and Replacements not purchased directly from MDL MUST go thru the original place of purchase.

No item(s) will be accepted for return or exchange without a Return Material Authorization    (RMA)

For items purchased directly from MDL, you may return items within 30 days of receipt.

All returns must be freight pre-paid.    Items returned through COD cannot be accepted by MDL.

 

Items that meet these conditions are:

  • New item in or accompanied by the original packaging the item(s) must be in/unaltered condition.
    – Unaltered means that NO restoration, painting, major cleaning, or removal of finish, physical damage structural or cosmetic or change of any kind has occurred
    The item(s) Must be in re-sellable condition.
  • Used core, as long as it is shipped in the box that contained the new product.
  • Any item received in a damaged or defective condition.
  • Any item received in error.


Returns are subject to a 20% Restocking Fee for the following conditions

The customer changes their mind about a purchase

  • No longer needed/wanted
  • Bought by mistake
  • Better price found available elsewhere

**  This fee may also be charged based on the determination upon inspection of the returned parts.  **

MDL will refund shipping charges under these conditions.

  • if the wrong item was sent to the customer or if the item is defective or damaged upon arrival.

EXCHANGE POLICY:

Modern DriveLine only  ‘replaces’  items if they are defective or damaged. If you need to exchange it for any other reason, contact us at:   208-453-9800  to begin this process.

We can issue an in-house credit if you are not ready to purchase at this time.

Exchange items for reasons other than Defect or damage
If you are exchanging one part for another of the same type it is our policy that the outgoing part is paid for when it ships to you and you will be reimbursed for the returned item, when it arrives.

SHIPPING:  Replacements, Returns, Exchanges, Warranty

Any returns conducted past 30-days of receipt, with regards to shipping costs,  all costs will be the responsibility of the customer returning the item.
If the item was misidentified or incorrectly ordered by the purchaser, with regards to shipping costs,  all costs will be the responsibility of the customer returning the item.
This applies to telephone & online orders alike.

MDL will refund the shipping charges to the purchaser under these conditions.

  • if an incorrect or incomplete item was sent to the customer, that differs from the Sales Order /  Order Invoice.

MDL will facilitate a refund of the shipping charges with the courier that handled the shipment originally. under these conditions,

  • if the item is defective or damaged upon arrival.

 

 

Store Credit

In the event the customer wishes an in-store credit, we ask that you indicate this is your preference on the receipt.  –  We will issue an in-house credit if you are not ready to purchase immediately

All credits (except store credit) will be applied to the original payment method used for the original purchase.
We ask that you allow 1-2 billing cycles for the credit to appear on your statement.

Modern DriveLine reserves the right to have 30 business days to review any and all returns, but we typically handle returns within a few business days.
Due to the nature of our products, reviewing returns can be a long and involved process.

Warranty/Disclaimer:

Modern Driveline Inc. guarantees all products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for normal use and service.

–   Manufacturer authorization may be required before a warranty claim can be completed.

MDL shall not be liable for any special, direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, that might be claimed as a result of the failure of any part, including claims for delay, loss of profits, or labor.

MDL shall not be liable for any damage or injury to persons or property resulting from improper installation, misuse, abuse, normal wear, or any damages due to accidents, collisions, and wrong handling of any part subject to this warranty.

MDL assumes no responsibility for labor, installation, removal, diagnosis, loss of vehicle use, lost time, inconvenience, pain, and suffering, or any other consequential expense or damages incurred by the purchaser.

MDL’s obligation under warranty shall be limited to repair or replacement, after review, of any part proven defective.

 

Should any item be determined by MDL to be out of the realm of normal use and/or service it may be deemed not to qualify for Warranty, Exchange, or Refund.

Order Changes and Cancellations

Any order can be changed or canceled up to the time of shipment

If the order has already shipped the order may still be canceled but there will be a cost incurred.
Please contact us as soon as possible if you wish to make any changes and we will do our best to accommodate your request.

The customer is responsible for any unrecoverable costs.

  • shipping, resulting from cancellation of an order after shipment.
  • A restocking fee may be applied.


Shipping Policy

Costs of shipment, handling, and insurance will be added to the final invoice.

All shipments from MDL are via UPS ground unless requested otherwise.

MDL ships via UPS or United States Postal Service only
Should the customer want to use a different carrier they may make arrangements for pick up from MDL

the MDL shopping cart estimates the shipping charges.
MDL reserves the right to change the charged amount when the actual shipping charges differ more than 10% from the estimate.

Estimated shipping charges are US domestic only.

MDL does not ship COD.

MDL requires the shipping address to match the billing address of the credit card used.

 

It is MDL’s policy that the customer’s credit card is not charged until the time of shipment.
