Description
When seat clearance and tight cabin layouts demand a forward shifter position, this CNC-machined tail housing delivers the solution. The front shift configuration places the pivot point 11.75" back from the main case - significantly forward of the stock location - eliminating interference with bucket seats, roll cages, and custom interior layouts common in hot rods, street rods, and Ford Ranger V8 conversions.
Unlike universal adapters or modified stock housings, this is a purpose-built solution engineered with 3D solid modeling for precise fitment. Enhanced ribbing and upgraded aluminum construction provide greater strength than OE housings while maintaining compatibility with Ford's mechanical speedometer drive system. The design incorporates GM trans cross-member mount positioning for direct compatibility with existing S-10 installations.
The housing comes pre-machined for the 0.8:1 5th gear set upgrade, allowing builders to optimize gear ratios for their specific application. Electronic analog and digital sensors can be added alongside the retained mechanical speedometer compatibility. A standard 28 spline slip yoke ensures compatibility with most driveline setups without requiring custom yokes.
This kit requires an MDL shifter due to the custom pivot point and bolt pattern - no stock applications use this forward position. The dual shift position capability provides 5.5" of adjustment range when paired with optional MDL offset shifters, allowing fine-tuning of shifter placement for driver comfort. Compatible only with Ford T5 World-Class transmissions; does not work with Non-World-Class variants. Made in the USA.
